| Athletics at Bishop John J. Snyder High School compliments academics. Our mascot is the Cardinal and was chosen by Bishop Snyder when the school opened in 2002 .
All student athletes are required to fill out and return the Student Athlete Participation Application and FHSAA Physical Exam Form, before they are allowed to participate in athletics.
Congratulations to our boys cross country, girls cross country, boys golf, football, and girls volleyball teams for all being nominated for the FHSAA Academic Team Champion Awards. Each team qualified for the recognition by earning at least a cumulative GPA of at least a 3.0 as a team. We are very proud of our athletes for their hard work in the classroom and on the field.
Check out the results at http://www.fhsaa.org/programs/atc/2009_10_fall.asp.
The girls soccer team won their first district championship in school history by beating defending champion Keystone Heights 3 – 2. The attack was led by Taylor Savage who had a goal and an assist. She was supported by Victoria Verville who scored the teams’ first goal and Amy Jugenheimer who scored the second goal. Brianna Jackson and Danielle Quinonez anchored a back line that was under pressure for much of the game and keeper Chelsea Bullard ensured a win with 18 saves on the night. Congratulations Lady Cardinals.
If you are planning on participating in athletics this upcoming year at BJS, a completed physical form and a parental consent form must be turned in to the athletic office prior to the first day of practice. Our fall sports begin practice either before school begins or immediately after school begins, so it is impoortant that these forms be completed prior to the beginning of school. You may pick up the forms from the main office or download them off our website.
