ANCHOR CLUB - Ms. Pichardo
(Chapel) and Ms. Adzima (805)
The Anchor club is an international community service
organization sponsored by Pilot International whose members are known
for their dedication to the school and community. Service projects
benefit such organizations as the Ronald McDonald House, St. Francis
Soup Kitchen, and IM Sulzbacher Center for the Homeless.
Meetings:
the first meeting is Monday, August 27th; then meetings are
on the 3rd Monday of each month, 3-3:30PM in room 805.
ART SERVICE CLUB – Ms.
Hocker (201)
The purpose of this club is to provide “art service” to
BJS. Activities include set designs for school performances, decorating
for homecoming and prom, and helping with posters and banners for other
organizations.

BEST BUDDIES – Ms. Pichardo
(Chapel)
The purpose of this nationwide club is to create
friendships with people with intellectual disabilities.
Meetings:
The first meeting is September 4th; meetings are on Tuesdays
after school.
BIG BROTHERS / BIG
SISTERS – Ms. Pichardo (Chapel)
The purpose of this club is to mentor elementary-school
aged children, giving them one-on-one attention.
Commitment:
Members must be able to serve for 1hour every other Thursday from
3:30-4:30PM (or every week if club decides) at Whitehouse Elementary.
Travel time to site is 10 minutes each way.
BRAIN BRAWL – Mr. Mull (802)
The purpose of this club is to compete against other
Brain Brawl teams. Students will meet for practice and competition.

CHAPEL CHOIR / ENSEMBLE
– Mr. Cummings (211)
This group is made up of instrumentalists and vocalists.
They lead the music for school liturgies and class liturgies.
Enrollment in a music class is a requirement; however, potential members
may also speak with Mr. Cummings.

CHESS CLUB – Mr. Mull (802)
The purpose of this club is to play chess. The
activities will include learning new chess strategies.

CHRISTIAN ROCK BAND –
The purpose to play great Christian Rock Music, and write
our own, to travel and to lift ourselves and others up in PRAISE.
ENVIRONMENTAL CLUB – Ms.

The purpose of this club is to promote stewardship and
environmental awareness on campus and perform service projects in the
community. Activities include recycling, Earth Day celebration, and
Adopt-a-highway.

FELLOWSHIP OF
CHRISTIAN ATHLETES – Ms. Pichardo (Chapel) and Mr. Saunders (517)
This nationwide club is open to any students who play a
sport for BJSHS. Meetings will gather student-athletes to pray,
strengthen faith, and promote fellowship.

The Interact club is a service club sponsored by the
Rotary Club. All interested students are welcome. Activities planned
for the year include “Flying Tigers” sponsorship, Angel tree,
faculty-student games, Youth Exchange, and more.

INTERNATIONAL TRAVELERS

Students attend a trip abroad each year. This year
students will travel to Ireland and England.

These organizations play for school functions and games.
Members may also be part of concerts. Enrollment in a music class is a

MUSIC THEATER / TECH

This is the lights and stage-managing group. Enrollment
in a music class is a requirement; however, potential members may also
speak with Mr. Cummings.

PEER LEADERS –Mr. Osbeck

Peer leaders are an organization whose primary purpose is
to promote BJS to the community, and to welcome 8th graders
and new transfers. Main activities include 8th grade visits,
Open House, 8th Grade Bash, and Orientation. All interested
students are welcome.

The purpose of this club will be to pray for those
considering abortion and all other threats against life. Activities for
this year include praying in front of abortion clinics, pro-life
speakers, and holy hours for pro-life causes.

ST. VINCENT dePAUL

The purpose of this club is service to the poor. The
club is affiliated with the ST. VINCENT dePAUL SOCIETY of St. Matthew’s
Catholic Church.
Meetings:

can meet, or we will move the meeting time to accommodate.

All female members of the class of 2007 are part of this
club. The club will promote class unity.

STUDENTS FOR A CURE –
Ms. Pichardo (Chapel)
This club’s main focus is the annual Relay for Life. The
members will work with Ms. Pichardo and the American Cancer Society to
help in the planning of the BJS Relay and spearhead the student body
fundraising efforts.

SUMMER MISSION TRIP
2007– Ms. Pichardo (Chapel)
Students will participate in one or two mission trips in
June or July ’06. This spiritually based trip will include working on
housing projects and with children of the area, or with other ministries
in another city. Previous destinations have included Native American
Reservations, Puerto Rico, New Orleans, and Washington DC. Locations
and dates of the mission trips are ultimately determined by Ms.
Pichardo.

TAILGATING CLUB – Mrs.

The purpose of this club is to enjoy tailgating one hour
prior to home football games. Activities will include BBQing in the
Northeast corner of the parking lot! Members will be asked to sign up
to bring food items.

VIDEO EDITING CLUB –

The purpose of this club will be to create and edit video
footage. Some of this year’s projects will be Student Government
commercials, 8th Grade Visits videos, homecoming, musical
commercials, and other projects as needed.
