Purpose: to serve
Activities: Service projects benefit such organizations as the Ronald McDonald House, St. Francis Soup Kitchen, Buddy visits, St. Vincent de Paul Society, Angel Tree, Episcopal Children’s Services, Down Syndrome Association of Jacksonville and many others!
Meetings: Every other Wednesday morning at 7:30AM in the cafetorium

BJS CATHOLIC HEART WORKCAMP 2014-2015 (mission trips) Ms. Pichardo (Campus Ministry)
Purpose: to serve
-HEART24 - one-day mission trip
-Cocoa Beach, FL, October 18, 2014 (open to grades 9-12)
-Two options for mission weeks (open to grades 9-11 only)
-Jacksonville (stay here at BJS), July 5-11, 2015
-Greensboro, NC, July 19-25, 2015

CARDINAL CHRONICLES, School Newspaper – Mrs. Browning (509)
Purpose: Be a guest writer! Cartoonists, photographer and artists are needed.

CHRISTIAN STUDENTS FOR ALTRUISM - “Chi Sigma Alpha” - Mrs. Valdes (711)
Purpose: Our mission is to raise awareness for global concerns and to participate in altruistic acts inside and outside of our community.
Activities: Fund raising through the promotion of the ProNino cart sales, and organizing cultural exchange events, in which students on campus can share their cultural differences and experiences
This will include social events, and guest speakers from countries around the world; especially the exchange students we have this year at BJS.
Meetings: Once a month for the Fraternity - dates to be determined by the various committees.
DRAMA CLUB – Mrs. Kemmer (714)
Purpose: to entertain the masses, and ourselves
Activities: Fall/winter play and spring musical
Meetings: 1st and 3rd Thursdays of each month, 3-4PM on stage
FELLOWSHIP OF CHRISTIAN ATHLETES - Coach Kellum
Purpose: to see the world impacted for Jesus Christ through the influence of athletes and coaches
Activities: a local service project; monthly “large huddle” meetings to begin at 7:15AM; pre and post-game activities to support our BJS sports teams
Meetings: Fridays, 7:35AM in the cafetorium
First meeting: Friday, August 29th at 7:35 in the cafetorium
GLEE CLUB – Mrs. Kemmer (714) and Mr. Urso (211)
Purpose: to strengthen and discover our artistic abilities with like-minded lovers of music
Activities: coffee house night, school Masses, Candlelight at Disney, talent show
Meetings: 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month, 3-4PM on the stage
NATIONAL MARCH FOR LIFE IN WASHINGTON,DC - Mrs. Harrington, Mr. Mull, Mrs. Sanders, Mrs. Gonzalez-Chavez, Ms. Pichardo
Purpose: to attend a pilgrimage to peacefully and prayerfully protest the legalization of abortion
Activities: travel to DC for the March for Life (Tues, Jan 20th after school through Sat, Jan 24th AM)
1st Meeting: 1st meeting for interested students is Friday, Sept 6th in the cafetorium
Papers and Payments: paperwork (due to Ms. Pichardo) and non-refundable deposit of $75.00 (due to Mr. Mull) on October 10th; balance (due to Mr. Mull) on November 21st; financial aid available through fundraisers
PEER LEADERS - Mrs. Gudzak (Director of Development)
Purpose: to assist with 8th grade visits and other admissions and development activities
Activities: BJS 101, Open House, Shadow Days and 8th Grade Visits
Pick up an application in the front office. Students in grades 9-12 are eligible.
RED BIRD ROOTERS - Mr. Martin
Purpose: to provide motivational support and student cheering section for all home BJS athletic events
Activities: planning and organizational sessions; attending home athletic competitions
Meetings: Outside of game days, Thursdays at 3:15PM in room 607
First Meeting: September 4th
ROBOTICS CLUB – Mr. Torres (713) and Mr. Martin (607)
Purpose: to give students the opportunity to discover, design and develop working robotic technology
Meetings: Tuesday at 3PM
First Meeting: Tuesday, Sept. 2nd at 3PM
