The mission of the Development Office is to engage the Bishop John J. Snyder High School family and friends in the life of the school. While many of our efforts are aimed at raising awareness of our high school and in generating new dollars for the betterment of the school, it is also an important component to bring students, alumni and parents together for fellowship and fun.
So much has been accomplished over the past few years because of the unending spirit of generosity by so many. An Annual Appeal was begun in 2007 and is well on the way to establishing new financial aid monies to help families afford a Catholic education for their children. Many families also made financial commitments and sacrifices in 2006 when we reached out and asked for help in our “Building to Serve” Capital Campaign. Now our students are learning in a state-of-the art ten classroom building because of the success of this inititative.
The Joos Family and the Vallencourt Family have established endowments which benefit our academic programs and students whose hard work is valued. Many other foundations continue to help us achieve our goals.
One of the main focuses we have had is the completion of our athletic infrastructure. When the school opened in 2002, we began with the Demetree Gymnasium. Since then, through hard work, fundraising and with the help of many parents, sponsors and volunteers, we have built baseball and softball fields, installed lights, bleachers and an eight-lane track on our main athletic field. In 2006, the National Football League and the Local Initiative Support Council granted us matching dollars to build a practice field for football and softball.
Yet, there is more to accomplish. We will do so … with your help.
