To be eligible to represent Bishop John Snyder High School in an athletic contest, a student:

  1. Must have a completed pre-participation physical certificate and a consent and release from liability certificate. Each of these documents must be on file with the athletic office before participating in any sport.

  2. Must maintain a 2.0 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 unweighted scale through the end of the previous semester as required by Florida law. A student in the 9th or 10th grade may fill out a performance contract if their GPA falls below a 2.0 to remain eligible on a semester by semester basis. The student must live with parents, or others with whom you have resided continuously for a full calendar year.  If residence is changed, immediately notify your coach and principal.
  3. Must be an amateur.
  4. Must not accept money, gift, or donation for participation in a sport or participate under an assumed name.
  5. Must not be guilty of gross unsportsmanlike conduct or exhibit behavior that is unacceptable to your principal or the FHSAA, both or which carry a six-week suspension from participation.  IF EJECTED FROM A CONTEST FOR A FLAGRANT FOUL OR UNSPORTSMANLIKE CONDUCT, THE ATHLETE CANNOT PARTICIPATE FOR 7 DAYS. May not dress for a contest, sit on the team bench, stand in the team box, or be on the field of play if you are not eligible to participate.
  6. Must transfer from the previous school prior to the first day of practice and secure an “Application for the Waiver of the Transfer Rule” signed by the principal of the previous school and the principal of BJS. If transferring to BJS at any time during his/her high school career after having begun the 9th grade in another school, regardless of whether during the school year or the summer, must complete an “Affidavit of Compliance with Policy on Athletic Recruiting”.
  7. Must not participate in any athletic activity sponsored by another school during the summer months. Participation at another school is considered establishing residence at that school and therefore is eligible to participate in athletics at that school.
