Welcome to Guidance Services at Bishop John J. Snyder High School where a comprehensive, bilingual and confidential setting ensures students receive professional assistance with their academic, interpersonal, college and career planning needs. BJS Guidance encourages and empowers students to engage in a rewarding high school experience that yields both personal and college-bound benefits. Our trained and certified guidance counselors are blessed to live their vocation and offer tailored support services via individual appointments, classroom guidance and guidance sponsored school wide events – all centered on our mission statement’s 3 C’s of Competence, Conscience and Compassion.
At Bishop John J. Snyder our student to counselor ratio combined with our open door policy affords each student the opportunity to develop and maintain a relationship with guidance staff beyond the required annual individual academic appointments. We believe this allows students to be better informed about and best prepared for their postsecondary options.
The Office of Guidance Services is an integral entity of the multidisciplinary team to support student success. To that end, Guidance works in cooperation with the Offices of Principal, Vice Principal, Dean of Students, Campus Ministry, and Athletics. Guidance is available M – F from 7:30a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
