Retreat Program Schema
9th Grade– “Transitions” / held in August AND 10th Grade– “Courage in Christ” /during Advent
- One day retreat on campus
- Ends with a Mass
- Junior and Senior Retreat Leaders
- Involved in planning
- Witness talks
- Lead small groups
- Put on skits
9th Grade retreat activities are conducive to a focus on prayer, faith, a relationship with Christ, meeting new classmates, forming community, and building self-esteem. Time is allotted for individual and group reflection.
10th Grade retreat activities are conducive to a focus on prayer, faith, a relationship with Christ, overcoming obstacles, having the courage to make good decisions, preparing for Reconciliation and The Passion of Christ. Time is allotted for individual and group reflection.
11th Grade - “Owning Your Faith”/ spring
- Off campus
- One day
- BJS teacher chaperones / retreat leaders
- Mass is celebrated the following day.
Activities are conducive to a focus on prayer, faith, communication, service, discipline, and physical and mental challenges with teamwork. Time is allotted for individual and group reflection.
12th Grade – “Strength for the Journey” / the last weekend of February
- Off Campus
- Overnight
- Mass is celebrated with parents upon return to campus.
- BJS teacher chaperones / retreat leaders
Activities are conducive to a focus on prayer, faith, family, community, letting go of past mistakes, reconciliation, self-knowledge, being one with Christ in the present moment, hopes and practical ideas about the future. Download the field trip form for this trip here.
