What is Advanced Placement?
Students who participate in Snyder’s Advanced Placement (AP) program experience a college-level work load, develop their time-management and learning skills, and get an in-depth study of the subjects that interest them. They also enhance their high school transcripts by showing colleges and universities that they are willing to take the most rigorous courses offered at Snyder. By achieving
qualifying scores on the AP Exams, Snyder students may earn college credit, replacing general education and elective course requirements and even some introductory courses in their major fields of study.
College Credit
AP Exams are scored on a scale of 1 to 5. Many U.S. colleges grant credit and/or advanced placement (that means they let you skip the equivalent course once you get to college) for scores of 3 and above.
