9th Grade – “The Great Adventure” – August 25, 2017

9th Grade retreat activities are conducive to a focus on prayer, faith, a relationship with Christ, meeting new classmates, forming community, and building self-esteem.  Time is allotted for individual and group reflection.

  • One day retreat on campus
  • Ends with a class Mass
  • Junior and Senior Retreat Leaders
    • Meet prior to retreat for planning
    • Present witness talks
    • Lead small groups
    • Plan and put on skits

 

10th Grade – “Take Up Your Cross and Follow Me.” – March 16, 2018

10th Grade retreat activities are conducive to a focus on prayer, faith, a relationship with Christ, overcoming obstacles, having the courage to make good decisions, preparing for Reconciliation and The Passion of Christ.  Time is allotted for individual and group reflection.

  • One day retreat off campus at most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church
  • Ends with a class Mass
  • Junior and Senior Retreat Leaders
    • Meet prior to retreat for planning
    • Present witness talks
    • Lead small groups
    • Plan and put on skits

The Sophomore Retreat letter and permission slip were handed out to students in Religion classes.  Permission slips and retreat fee are due by March 13th.

 

11th Grade  – “Called to More” – November 16, 2017

Activities are conducive to a focus on prayer, faith, communication, service, discipline, and physical and mental challenges with teamwork.  Time is allotted for individual and group reflection.

  • Off campus at Epworth by the Sea in St. Simons Island, GA
  • One-day retreat extending beyond school hours:  6:00 AM until 7:15 PM
  • BJS teacher chaperones / retreat leaders from the senior class
  • Mass celebrated at the close of the day

*Cost includes transportation, lunch at the retreat center, a t-shirt, and participation in a low-and-high-elements challenge ropes course.

 

12th Grade – “Strength for the Journey” – March 26-27, 2018 – NOTE THE NEW DATE

  • Off Campus at Epworth by the Sea in St. Simons Island, GA
  • Overnight
  • Mass is celebrated upon return to campus.
  • Snyder teachers are the chaperones and retreat leaders

Activities are conducive to a focus on prayer, faith, family, community, letting go of past mistakes, reconciliation, self-knowledge, being one with Christ in the present moment, hopes and practical ideas about the future.

This retreat is mandatory for all seniors.

A letter was sent to parents by mail on February 16th.

The Senior Retreat permission slip and fee are due March 20th.

The Holy Spirit guides our retreats and ignites the hearts of our students with the fire of His love.
