FINE ARTS

CARDINAL REGIMENT MARCHING BAND - Mr. Peterson

Taking to the field for the first time in 2024, the Cardinal Marching Band Regiment brings high school musicians to greater heights! Field shows, parades and instrumental performances are just the start of opportunities waiting for young musicians.

PHOTOGRAPHY CLUB - Mr. Baylor

The Photography Club is a creative space for students who love capturing the world through a lens. We explore different techniques, genres, and lighting conditions. From candid shots to portraits, we experiment with various styles and share our work with the community. Whether you're a seasoned photographer or just starting out, join us to develop your skills, connect with like-minded peers, and create stunning visuals.  

DRAMA CLUB - Mrs. Kemmer

Students who enjoy live theater and drama are encouraged to join the Drama Club where members practice stage skills, dramatic and acting exercises which are presented to the public each fall in a live production. Backstage and technical assistants are also welcome to join the club which meets on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of each month when not in show season, 3-4 p.m. in room 714 or on stage. Practices may occur more frequently during fall play rehearsals.

MUSIC THEATER CLUB / SNYDER MUSICAL PRODUCTION - Mr. Peterson & Mrs. Kemmer

If you love theatrical productions, you’ll love the Music Theater Club. All students are invited to try out for the Spring Musical each year. Students with technical and artistic talents are also welcome. Participation includes showcasing students’ artistic capabilities, building confidence, problem solving, self-presentation and perseverance skills all while building higher academic achievement through Fine Arts exposure.

CREATIVE WRITING CLUB - Mr. Pizzo

Unleash Your Imagination! Whether you're a seasoned writer or just beginning to explore the world of writing, this club is the perfect place to nurture your creativity, improve your skills, and connect with fellow writers. Dive further into poetry, short stories, novels and more!

ROCK & ROLL CLUB - Mr. Peterson and Mr. Torres

Ready to rock out? Whether you're a guitarist, bassist, drummer, or vocalist, we get together to make some noise! Join us for regular jam sessions, where we play your favorite rock anthems and work on original music. Look forward to opportunities to join rock and roll bands, festivals, and even participate in a professionally recorded album!

PRAISE BAND – Mrs. Gallagher & Mrs. Luman

Music is a powerful form of worship and a unifying force for our community. If you have a passion for music and a heart for leading others in praise, this is the place for you. The praise band also serves as music ministry for school masses.

Calling all future presidents, or any student who wants to take an active role in their school experience. Student Government gives a voice to every Cardinal and supports the student life at Snyder.

SAINT VINCENT DE PAUL SOCIETY – Mrs. Cook and Mrs. Gallagher

Joining this active club will help you meet new friends and perform Christian service in our community by participating in activities such as the greater St. Vincent de Paul Society, Angel Tree, Elder Community, food banks, and more.

Be part of the spiritual life of our school! Participating in the many ministries of the mass, students have the opportunity to serve others and grow their faith life.

ST. SEBASTIAN MEN'S ATHLETIC CLUB  - Mr. DiSandro

Founded on the values of St. Sebastian, patron saint of athletes, this community is dedicated to physical fitness, personal growth, and building camaraderie through sports and training. Whether you're an experienced athlete or just starting your fitness journey, our club provides a space to push your limits, get stronger, and connect with others who share your passion for health, wellness, and seeking the Lord!

BAKING CLUB - Mr. Pizzo

Where flour, sugar, and a dash of creativity come together to create delicious masterpieces! Whether you’re into cakes, cookies, or croissants, the Baking Club is the perfect place to learn more with fellow baking enthusiasts.

RESPECT LIFE CLUB – Mr. Parker and Mrs. Gallagher

Standing for the dignity and sacredness of human life, students come together to support pro-life initiatives and support the community.

BIRDING CLUB - Mrs. Torres

The Birding Club meets biweekly to teach students how to identify local bird species in the field, to give students experience in collecting and submitting birding data as citizen scientists, and to foster and promote wildlife conservation efforts. Our data helps scientists at the Cornell Lab of Ornithology track migration patterns, population densities, and nesting behaviors of birds in our area. Bring your binoculars and join us outside!

SOWING SEEDS GARDEN CLUB 

The Sowing Seeds is open to all students who enjoy being outside and learning more about gardening. Originally conceived for research and practical application of the 16th century Eastern & Western Hemisphere trade, the CEG now maintains, plants, and harvests what we grow. Join us every other Wednesday morning. 

eSPORTS – Mr. Martin

Snyder’s eSPORTS Club dives into the realms of computer and console gaming. All are welcome to join and participate in school wide competitions. We also have an eSPORTS team which takes the competition to a higher level by competing in regional and state play, Did you know there are college scholarships available? Teams currently participate in League of Legends and Rocket League.

RACHEL’s 5K Club – Mrs. Gallagher

Rachel Quiñones was valedictorian of the class of 2009 at Snyder and she taught at St Joseph Academy as part of the ACE Master of Education program at University of Notre Dame.  Rachel received her BA from The College of William and Mary in 2013 and her MA in 2018. 
The annual Rachel’s Run remembers and celebrates this remarkable alumna of Snyder who passed away in 2018 after a five-year battle with cancer. All funds raised benefit the “Rachel Quiñones Scholarship Fund,” for scholarships at Snyder and St Joseph Academy in Brownsville, TX. Club members help plan, organize and run the event held each Saturday of Catholic Schools Week.

TECHNOLOGY CLUB– Mr. Torres
The Technology Club seeks to help build an interest in technological innovation in fun and creative ways. Members will work in teams to design and create an extravagant Rube Goldberg machine. 

NATIONAL ACADEMIC QUIZ TEAM - Mrs. Silva

Join the team to participate in the Quiz bowl! A game in which two teams compete head-to-head to answer questions from all areas of knowledge, including history, literature, science, fine arts, current events, popular culture, sports, and more. There are also tournaments for individual players rather than teams.

LABYRINTHS & LIZARDS - Mrs. Torres

 Explore new worlds, create unique characters, and join epic journeys with every roll in Dungeons & Dragons. It’s all about teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving. Work together with your party to overcome challenges, solve mysteries, and 

HONOR SOCIETIES

SPANISH NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY - Mr. Ravelo

The Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica (SHH) is an honor society for high school students enrolled in Spanish and/or Portuguese, sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese (AATSP).

RHO KAPPA - Mrs.Lowther and Mrs. Silva

Rho Kappa National Social Studies Honor Society is the only national organization for high school juniors and seniors that recognizes excellence in the field of Social Studies. Any accredited public or private high school can apply for a local chapter, through which individuals will be inducted into Rho Kappa National Social Studies Honor Society.

NATIONAL ENGLISH HONOR SOCIETY - Mrs. Torres

The National English Honor Society (NEHS) celebrates the academic brilliance of high school students worldwide, igniting their passion for the English language arts. NEHS is the premier honor society for high school students who are captivated by English language and literature, creative writing, theatre and drama, film and media studies, and journalism. This unique society offers an unparalleled chance for students, teachers, and schools to engage in an enriching, discipline-specific international community.

FRENCH HONOR SOCIETY - Mrs. Crotty

The Société Honoraire de Français provides a vehicle to focus activities around French language and Francophone literatures and cultures, and to encourage participation in the annual writing contest and travel grant competition.  In addition, students can acquire leadership skills by serving as officers, directing the initiation ceremony, or leading other chapter events.

SCIENCE NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY - Mr. Martin

SNHS is a prominent scientific organization that will engender a new group of young thinkers who will be the future of industry, research, and scientific exploration for America.

ART HONOR SOCIETY – Mrs. Kerns

 Art Honor Society meets after school twice a month and is open to all students and all abilities.   Whether you enjoy constructing, cartooning, or crafting, the club serves as a designated hour to share in the creative process. Members learn about new processes and mediums as well as share tutorials and tricks they have found to be helpful. The society participates in world-wide challenges such as "Inktober."  Members are encouraged to  enter contests such as designing the annual Diocesan Christmas Card. Additional activities include designing sets and props for the school play and assisting the SGA with decorations for the school dances.
