COLUMBIAN EXCHANGE GARDEN CLUB – Mr. Sanford
Purpose:  Research and practical application of 16th century East/West Gardening
Activities:  GARDENING! Members of the Garden Club will help maintain, plant, and harvest what we grow.
Meetings: Usually every other Wednesday morning in Mr. Sanford’s room, 805.

 

DISC GOLF CLUB – Mr. Mull and Mr. Jackson 
Purpose:  to learn, play and further a love of disc golf 
Activities:  play and learn about disc golf
Meetings: TBD

 

DRAMA CLUB – Mrs. Kemmer 
Purpose:  To entertain ourselves and the masses of adoring fans!
Activities:  Dramatic and acting exercises, stage skills, and a FALL PLAY
Meetings: 1st and 3rd Thursdays of each month when not in show season, 3-4 p.m. in room 714 or on stage

 

eSPORTS – Mr. Martin
Purpose:  To promote healthy competition in different eSport venues
Activities:  Forming league competition teams for the following eSport games: League of Legends, Overwatch, and Rocket League.  Local competitions are being tenatively planned for this year.

 

MAKERS CLUB – Mrs. Kerns
Purpose: to encourage self-sufficiency, artistic expression and fellowship through the creation of art pieces and craft projects
Activities: art tutorials, crafts, drawing challenges and contests; “makin’ ALL the things!”
Please see Mrs. Kerns if you are interested in helping her plan activities and hosting tutorials.
Meetings:  every 3rd Tuesday in the art room (201)
First Meeting:  September 15th, after school in the art room (201)

 

MUSIC THEATER CLUB / SNYDER MUSICAL PRODUCTION – Mr. Urso
Purpose:

  •         To showcase students’ artistic capabilities,
  •         Build self-presentation skills
  •         To build confidence in self expression
  •         Problem solving and perseverance
  •  Promote higher academic achievement  through participation in the arts

Activities: Produce and perform in the Spring musical; topics in Musical Theater, musical planning and prep
Meetings:   2nd and 4th Thursday of each month from 3-4 p.m. in the music room.
First Meeting:  Thursday, September 10th, from 3-4 p.m. in the music room

 

RACHEL’s 5K Club – Ms. Pichardo and Ms. Williams
Purpose:  The members of this club will put on the Rachel Quiñones Memorial 5K. 

This race has two purposes:

  1. to remember and celebrate a remarkable alumna of Snyder who passed away in 2018 after a five-year battle with cancer.
  2. to raise funds for the “Rachel Quiñones Scholarship Fund,” for scholarships at Snyder and St Joseph Academy in Brownsville, TX.  

Rachel was valedictorian of the class of 2009 at Snyder and she taught at St Joseph Academy as part of the ACE Master of Education program at University of Notre Dame.  Rachel received her BA from The College of William and Mary in 2013 and her MA in 2018.
Activities: Plan, advertise, and implement the Rachel 5K in conjunction with Rachel’s parents.
Meetings:  Once a month, TBD / more frequent as we get closer to the race
The Rachel 5K is February 6, 2021

 

RESPECT LIFE CLUB –  Ms. Pichardo
Purpose:   for all to participate in Respect Life Ministry – supporting the dignity of each human person from conception until natural death
Activities:  Host guest speakers who will facilitate discussions on the following respect life topics:

  • abortion
  • racism
  • death penalty
  • Catholic Social Teaching
  • and more similar topics
  • Attend Respect Life conferences, training and webinars

ROBOTICS – Mr. Torres
Purpose:  The Robotics Club seeks to help build an interest in technology in fun and creative ways.
Activities:  Members will work in teams to design and create an extravagant Rube Goldberg machine.
Meetings:  Every other Friday at 3:00 pm in room 713 / First meeting TBD

 

ROSARY CLUB  – Ms. Pichardo
Purpose:   to pray the rosary
Activities:  leading the Rosary at least one morning a week in the Cascone Chapel
Meetings:  Wednesdays at 7:35 and more times based on member availability

 

SAINT VINCENT DE PAUL SOCIETY – Mrs. Cook and Ms. Pichardo 
Purpose: service club
Activities:  Service projects benefit such organizations as the greater St. Vincent de Paul Society, Angel Tree, Elder Community, food banks, and others!
Meetings: Every other Thursday morning at 7:30 a.m. in the cafeteria
First meeting: Thursday, September 17th
